KD Dance Auckland is an Auckland-based Latin dance school offering structured salsa and bachata classes in Auckland for beginners and intermediate dancers. Located in Western Springs, the school offers a range of partnerwork courses, solo shines classes, and an open-level community class in a friendly, inclusive environment.

KD Dance focuses on quality teaching, clear progression and helping students build confidence, musicality and strong dance foundations, whether they are starting from zero or continuing their dance journey.

Salsa and bachata classes for beginners and improvers

KD Dance Auckland offers Latin dance classes at three main levels, making it easy to find the right starting point.

Beginner classes
Beginner salsa and bachata classes are suitable for people with no previous dance experience. These courses focus on basic steps, timing, musicality, connection and the fundamentals of social partnerwork.
No partner or prior experience is required.

Improver classes
Improver courses are designed for dancers who have completed beginner classes or already have a foundation. These classes build on core techniques and introduce more body movement, variation and musical understanding.

Improver Plus classes
Improver Plus courses are a step up, combining previous concepts into more complex patterns and combinations for social dancing. A solid improver-level foundation is recommended.
No partner is required.

All partnerwork classes are taught as six-week courses and are delivered in English and Spanish.

Shines classes (solo dance)

In addition to partnerwork, KD Dance Auckland offers solo dance classes, known as shines.

Salsa Shines - Improvers
A six-week course focused on musicality, styling, body movement and posture. This class is suitable for dancers with prior experience and can be taken alongside partnerwork or as a standalone course.

Bachata Shines - Open Level
A four-week course focused on feminine bachata shines, including arm styling, isolations and footwork. This class requires prior experience through bachata shines or partnerwork. While the focus is on feminine styling, it is open to all genders and is taught in English.

Community Latin dance class in Auckland

KD Dance Auckland also runs a Community Latin Dance Class - Open Level, designed to make Latin dance accessible to everyone.
