This screen acting class for adults focuses on understanding how to make your performance best work for screen.
Scripts are learnt, filmed and watched back for review and you are encouraged to find your individual style in taking a script off the page to make it your own. There are also exercises and improvisation to encourage confidence. Some scripts will be R16 in terms of language or theme.

Rīhari Te Are is a trained and qualified actor with six years of professional experience in the performing arts. He has worked across stage and screen while mentoring students at high schools, alternative learning centers, and Toi Whakaari: New Zealand Drama School. Passionate about nurturing the next generation of actors, Rīhari brings his wealth of knowledge, a sharp eye for performance, and a genuine love for teaching to every class.
Grounded in te ao Māori, Rīhari incorporates Māori values and perspectives into his teaching, fostering a creative and accessible environment where students feel supported and inspired to explore their potential. His approach celebrates storytelling as a powerful tool for connection, expression, and growth.
