Get ready to fall in love with one of the most magical processes in jewellery-making.
In this inspiring and hands-on course, you’ll design and carve your own pieces in jeweller’s wax, then send them away to be professionally cast in metal. When they return, the real excitement begins—transforming your raw castings into beautifully finished, wearable jewellery. It’s creative, a little bit unpredictable, and incredibly rewarding.
Level 1: Perfect for beginners, you’ll explore both soft and hard jeweller’s wax, learning how to carve, shape and refine your designs. Your wax models will be sent off for casting, and once they’re back, you’ll learn how to cut, file, clean up and polish them into finished pieces. We’ll guide you through making rings to start with, but you’ll be encouraged to experiment and develop your own unique ideas.
Level 2: Take your skills further by refining your carving techniques and exploring stone setting in wax. You’ll learn how to create settings such as claws, or experiment with the exciting cast-in-place method—where stones are set directly during the casting process, resulting in beautifully organic, one-of-a-kind pieces.
All wax materials, sandpaper, and courier costs are included in your class fee, so you can focus fully on the creative process.
Casting and metal costs are additional and will vary depending on your designs, giving you flexibility to work within your own budget. Suitable for ages 12 and up. Please note: anyone under 16 must be accompanied by an enrolled parent or caregiver.
