An introduction to metalsmith jewellery making for teenagers.

Craft your own rings or a pendant in this hands-on introduction to jewellery making. In this fast-paced workshop, you'll learn fundamental metalworking techniques and transform raw silver, copper or brass into a finished wearable piece.

Please note that a chain for a pendant is not included but can be purchased for $30.

Techniques covered:

  • Measuring ring sizes using jeweller's callipers and ring sizers
  • Filing and sanding metal surfaces and edges
  • Forming metal with hammers
  • Soldering using jeweller's flame torches
  • Refining and polishing jewellery using Dremel tools and bench polishers
