Join Auckland Libraries staff for a full-day family history research workshop focused on a specific “country of interest”.

Each workshop explores research methods, tools, and resources for a particular country:

  • England & Wales – Saturday 7 March 2026

  • Scotland – Saturday 2 May 2026

  • Ireland – Saturday 1 August 2026

Please bring your own laptop and any research relevant to the country being covered.

What to expect:

  • Guided presentations on family history research and available library resources

  • A tour of the family history collection and Research Centre

  • Hands-on learning, including pedigree charts and family group sheets

  • Live, guided searching with support from library staff

  • Group discussion, shared discoveries, and practical tips

Schedule:

  • 10:30am – 1:00pm: Presentation and guided research

  • 1:00pm: Research Centre tour

  • 1:30pm: Lunch

  • 2:00pm – 4:30pm: Independent research with staff support
