Explore the unique process of pinhole photography using experimental cameras and darkroom techniques in a hands-on Saturday workshop.
Did you know that any object that can be made light tight can be turned into a camera? Come along to this Saturday workshop and work with one of our existing pinhole cameras (made from boxes, jars, teapots…) to create evocative photographs.
We’ll work in the darkroom and explore the process of loading your camera with silver gelatin paper, before making exposures in the garden around the historic Inverlochy house & garden, testing different angles and perspectives. We’ll then return to the darkroom to develop your photographic negative, and print it as a positive. You’ll leave the course with some atmospheric pinhole photographs and knowledge of how to build your own pinhole camera.
Bring a packed lunch to have in the historic Inverlochy house or explore the local cafes in Te Aro.
