A creative after-school art programme exploring sculpture and illustration for children aged 6 to 13.
This term, students will explore sculpture and illustration, transforming everyday materials into fun, whimsical artworks.
Inspired by Dame Lynley Dodd, they will create expressive characters through illustration, and, influenced by Minu Freitag, turn illustrations into playful paper mâché sculptures. The sculptural creations of Simon Lewis Wards will inspire students to design their own small-scale artworks.
Throughout the term, students will experiment with storytelling, painting, sculpture and mixed media to bring imaginative ideas to life.
Alongside visual arts techniques, students develop creative thinking, problem-solving skills and confidence in a supportive environment.

Venue: Arahoe School, 9/11 Arahoe Road, New Lynn, Auckland. Classes are held in Rūma 2.
