Designed for pre-intermediate level dancers, this class breaks down essential intermediate-level ballet techniques such as brisé, grand jeté, posé turn, and double pirouette, while also exploring artistic expression. By focusing in detail on these steps, the class aims to refine your understanding and execution, empowering you to feel more confident and expressive in other open classes.
The class level is similar to our Saturday Intermediate Ballet + Repertoire class, but it dedicates additional time to pre-intermediate steps, allowing for a more thorough exploration of technique. This approach distinguishes it from the broader range of material covered in the Saturday class. The level is equivalent to RAD/Cecchetti Grade 6 to Intermediate.
For Terms 2 and 3, this class becomes a rehearsal-focused pathway for dancers who wish to participate in our performance. If you do not wish to participate in the show, you are still welcome to attend this class in Term 2; however Term 3 is for performers only.
Performance details and participation requirements will be announced to enrolled students during Term 2. Dancers who wish to perform must enrol in both Term 2 and 3 and attend at least 8 out of 10 classes in each term and be available for the following performance:

How the year is structured
Term 1: Technique & foundations Classes run as regular technique classes. Dancers who do not wish to perform are still very welcome to join and enjoy the class.
Term 2: Technique + introduction to choreography Regular classes continue, with some choreography for the show introduced. Non-performing dancers are still very welcome to attend.
Term 3: Rehearsals & performance Classes are for performers only and will consist of barre work followed by rehearsal.
Term 4: Regular classes resume
