An 8-week oil painting course covering still-life, portrait, and landscape techniques for beginners to intermediate levels.
This course is structured around a series of oil painting exercises that explore the foundations of still-life, portrait and landscape painting. For Beginners through to Intermediate Melissa will teach the basics of oil painting techniques, colour mixing, skin tones, equipment choices for painting.
With an emphasis on simple beginnings, the lessons will include:
- colour theory
- skin tones, structure and composition
- copying master paintings in order to improve observational skills while learning the components of structure and composition
Initially students follow visual images provided by Melissa but can work their way up to using their own images and photographs to work from. Class is suitable for all levels of experience; we start from where you are. Melissa focuses on a personalised approach for the student with an emphasis on finding that person’s passion in art.
Basic materials provided.
