This hands-on morning course explores expressive printmaking techniques through texture, tone and layered imagery. Across 4 weeks, students will learn the creative processes behind drypoint and collagraph printmaking while producing a series of unique handcrafted prints to take home.
Participants will learn drypoint etching techniques by scratching directly onto a plate before exploring how to ink, layer and print their designs using a traditional printing press. The course also introduces collagraph techniques using textured card and found materials to create richly layered prints with colour, depth and atmosphere.
Students will experiment with texture, layering and colour while creating multiple print editions and variations from their designs. Suitable for complete beginners as well as those with previous printmaking experience looking to expand their skills.
Basic materials are included.
