The Art of Composition is a creative course exploring the visual principles that make artworks aesthetic, meaningful and visually powerful. Across 4 weeks, students will develop a deeper understanding of how artists use composition, colour, form and design to communicate ideas, emotions and stories.
Through discussion, observation and creative exploration, participants will discover how the principles of visual art can strengthen their own creative practice across drawing, painting, photography, printmaking and mixed media. The course encourages students to think more consciously about visual storytelling while developing confidence in analysing and creating compositions.
Suitable for all experience levels. Basic materials are included. Please bring a notebook and writing utensil for note-taking.
Please note: wheelchair access to the school and Ceramics Studio is available via the driveway entrance beside the main house. Some upstairs studios are accessible only by stairs. Contact the school directly for accessibility support.
