If time allows, you'll also have the opportunity to make a bucket hat or create an additional tote bag or apron.
Your course fee includes the tote bag and apron patterns.
You'll need to bring your own fabric, thread, interfacing, pins, and other sewing supplies. During the first class, you'll learn how to choose suitable fabrics and materials, how much you'll need, and where to purchase them. Please bring a notebook and pen, as the first session focuses on getting familiar with the sewing machines and planning your projects.
The sewing room is equipped with Bernina sewing machines for students to use during class. You're welcome to bring your own sewing machine if you'd like to become familiar with its operation.
Fabric scissors, paper scissors, measuring tapes, and other shared tools are available in the classroom, although bringing your own basic sewing kit is recommended.
After completing Sewing for Beginners, you can continue developing your skills in Sewing - Next Steps, where you'll learn to make a simple skirt or trousers. You may also enjoy Pattern Alteration and Design or one of the specialist weekend sewing workshops.
