Lunchtime drop-in drawing sessions with a life model, guided by tutor Heyes Johnson. All levels welcome.

Keen to practice your sketching and observation skills in a relaxed environment? Be inspired by a life model in an open drawing encounter, every Friday lunchtime.

Set in the Gallery spaces, you are invited to bring your favourite drawing materials (dry media only please) or use the materials provided, grab a stool and find a space to be inspired by what you see. There will be a drawing tutor Heyes Johnson on hand to offer guidance.

These drawing sessions are suitable for everyone – from complete beginners to accomplished artists. All welcome. Drop in early though, as places are limited.

About the tutor:
Heyes Johnson is a visual artist and teacher based in Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland. With over 20 years of experience in tertiary and community education, Heyes has developed a student-centred teaching approach that fosters engaging, supportive, and effective learning environments. He has a Master of Visual Arts from Auckland University of Technology, and his current practice focuses on capturing the fluid, dynamic processes of drawing. Heyes’ drawing classes emphasise the fundamentals of observational drawing while encouraging individual self-expression.
