This hands-on drypoint printmaking workshop introduces participants to expressive printmaking techniques using line, texture and layered surfaces. Guided by experienced local printmaker Kirsty White, students will learn how to etch and prepare a polycarbonate printing plate using steel needle tools and wire brushes to create detailed marks that hold ink beautifully.
Participants will explore the full drypoint process, including inking techniques, wiping methods using mull cloth to achieve tone and contrast, and printing onto damp printmaking paper using a traditional press. The workshop also includes a second printing stage using relief techniques and natural textured blocks to create layered, atmospheric prints.
Suitable for beginners as well as those with some printmaking experience looking to expand their skills in a supportive studio environment.
All materials are supplied.
