A one day workshop exploring traditional and mixed media Chine Collé printmaking techniques.
Welcome to mixed media collage the printmakers way. Chine Colle is a printing process in which a thin sheet of paper is printed on and at the same time, mounted on a sturdier sheet, creating a subtle delicate backdrop to the printed image. Expanded on, this can include contrasting papers, graphic images, select colour shapes and fabric. The mission is just to have fun creating together in the fabulous Inverlochy print studio.
In this one day workshop people will:
- Practice traditional and individual chine colle techniques
- Explore the use of delicate papers more responsive to ink and hand printing
- Test and practice mixed media chine colle with images, papers and fabric
- How effective chine colle is as a method of adding colour to prints
- Making and using a damp pack
- Recipes for traditional glues
Materials are supplied and feel free to bring your own special bits and bobs to include and or share.
Minimum age to attend this workshop is 16 years.
Thirty minute lunch - bring a water bottle and packed lunch to enjoy in the historic Inverlochy or explore the local cafes in Te Aro.
