Ngā Tohunga Whakatere – The Navigators is a family-friendly animated show that tells the story of Māori, Pasifika and later European navigation to Aotearoa through the eyes of a young girl named Moko.
Moko dreams of becoming a master star navigator like her koro, Jack.
Audiences follow Moko as she learns about Māori, Pasifika and European voyaging traditions, discovering the skill, knowledge and deep understanding of the natural world required by her tūpuna to travel the largest ocean on Earth.
Ko te reo pākehā te reo mō te roa o te whakaaturanga, ā, ka rangona hoki te reo Māori hei wāhanga o te kōrero.
The experience is followed by an immersive full-dome presentation on the night sky.
