A beginner-level ballet class focusing on essential movements, barre work, and centre practice to build strength and flexibility.
This class focuses on essential ballet movements, including basic barre and center work, port de bras, and simple jumps such as sautés and petit jetés while helping dancers build flexibility, mobility, and strength. Recognizing the importance of a strong foundation for long-term progress, the class incorporates floor barre exercises to teach proper muscle engagement and alignment, build correct muscle memory and core strength, and minimize the development of bad habits. Each session concludes with a series of stretches that you can continue doing at home.
This class is designed for dancers who have completed our Absolute Beginner Ballet Course and Beginner Foundation Ballet Course or an equivalent program. If you are completely new to ballet, we highly recommend taking these courses first or alongside this class. Alternatively, you may wish to consider our Intro Private Lesson Package for Beginners. This tailored package is a great way to learn the basics and feel more confident in the studio.
If you are unable to attend these courses, you are still very welcome to join this class—while the first few months may feel challenging, most dancers gain confidence over time. The class’s level is roughly equivalent to RAD/Cecchetti grades 3/4. Typically, dancers remain at this level for a few years, solidifying their foundation before advancing to the upper beginner level.
The main content of this class is the same as our Saturday Adult Ballet Beginner class. Some dancers choose to take both classes each week to reinforce what they’ve learned and enjoy dancing more often.
· Term enrolment: $250 (approx. 10 weeks) · 10-class pass: $300 (valid for 6 months, usable across Tuesday Basic, Wednesday Beginner & Saturday Beginner classes) · Single class: $34
