In this course we explore the shifts in visual culture from the early 20th century to the contemporary era, learning about the radical avant-garde movements of the West. We also learn about the deeply rooted aesthetic and philosophical traditions of the East with understanding the visual languages of Indian and Islamic representation. This course aims to foster a holistic, global understanding of how humanity encodes meaning into form, space, and geometry.
