Continue learning the fascinating Chinese language and culture in this intermediate-level course designed for learners who have completed a beginner Mandarin course or have some previous experience with the language.
Expand your vocabulary, improve your pronunciation, build confidence listening to spoken Mandarin, and develop your reading and writing skills with Chinese characters.
Throughout the course, you'll practise everyday phrases and sentences while learning around 25 commonly used words. Topics include:
The Selwyn Community Education Mandarin programme, from Beginners through to Level 6, is approximately equivalent to HSK Level 1. Students who complete the first four courses will be prepared to sit the HSK 1 exam.
Designed for adults aged 16+ who have completed an Introduction to Chinese Mandarin course or who have gained some experience with Mandarin while living, working, or travelling abroad.
The TEC course fee subsidy is available to qualifying learners, including New Zealand citizens, residents, refugee-status holders, and some eligible spouses. Additional eligibility criteria apply, including attendance requirements and proof of eligibility.
