A hands-on class for people curious about AI who haven't had a proper go at it yet.
This is a hands-on class for people curious about AI who haven't had a proper go at it yet. We'll explore the AI ecosystem and examine the top AI assistants and tools that most people already use. You'll spend time using these tools with hands-on exercises then close the day with live demos showing what's coming next: AI that can look at a photo, listen to your voice, and quietly handle small, repetitive jobs for you.
What you'll learn:
- How to write a clear "brief" (prompting) so AI gives you a useful answer instead of a generic one
- The practical differences between ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude and Perplexity, and when to reach for each
- Discover AI tools to help you learn, research and more
- How to tell a genuinely useful AI answer from a confident-sounding guess
- What's realistic to expect from AI right now, without the hype
Who should attend:
- Anyone who's curious about AI but doesn't know where to start
- Small business owners and sole traders wanting practical, everyday skills
- Community learners wanting a friendly, jargon-free introduction
- Anyone who's tried AI once or twice and wants to go further
- Parents, retirees, and career-changers wanting to understand what all the fuss is about
