Create your own DIY zine in this fun, hands-on introduction to zine making.
Zines (short for magazines) are self-made booklets that can explore anything you’re passionate about, from art, poetry, and storytelling to recipes, reviews, and personal ideas. In this workshop, you’ll learn how to turn your ideas into a creative, tangible publication.
Led by Thorn Richards, you’ll be guided through creating a classic 8-page zine from a single A4 sheet using a simple cut-and-fold technique that’s easy to replicate at home.
What you’ll learn:
All basic materials are provided, including paper, magazines, and drawing supplies. You’re welcome to bring a sketchbook and any favourite materials to personalise your work.
This is a relaxed and creative workshop, perfect for anyone curious about self-publishing or exploring new artistic ideas. Wellington also has an active zine-making community, including events like Zinefest.
Please note:
Tea and coffee are provided, please bring your own lunch.
Courses require a minimum number of enrolments to run. If there are not enough registrations, the course may be cancelled a few days before the start date. You will be notified by email.
