An amazing intro to imaginative and festive glasswork! Early bird pricing till 9 November.
Christmas is coming, and what better way to celebrate than with beautiful, colourful glass creations? Come into Workspace Ōtaki and make your own unique wine glass charms in a festive palette, creating tiny decorations that will add a personal touch to your celebrations.
In this fun introduction to lampworking, you’ll work with Sarah Brock, the magician of colour palettes, to explore the art of shaping molten glass into miniature creations. Think warm golds, deep greens and rich reds, alongside the classic combination of red, green and white. You’ll learn the basic techniques for working with glass, then let your creativity take over!
There’s no need to make your charms match – embrace the colours, experiment with different combinations and create a collection that’s uniquely yours. Your finished glass pieces will be turned into wine glass charms, with charm holders provided. They’re perfect for adding a playful, handmade touch to your festive table, summer drinks or seasonal gatherings, and make lovely gifts for friends and family.
No previous experience is needed, although some existing skills will help with more intricate projects.
Everyone is welcome – just bring your imagination and get ready to play with glass!
Teens aged 12+ are welcome; however, participants under 16 must be accompanied by an enrolled parent or caregiver.
